WHAT ARE WE ALL ABOUT –
In 1993, the Fox Valley Hurricanes were incorporated in Illinois under the general not for profit corporation act. Since then, the name has been changed to McHenry County Hurricanes to reflect the more specific geographical locations of our players.
The Hurricanes were created to give local players age 9 through 18 the opportunity to receive the highest level of competition. Hurricane teams have participated in tournaments all over the country. The Hurricane Organization is also a proud host team of the U9, U11 and U15 CABA World Series held every year in Crystal Lake, IL
WHAT ARE OUR GOALS –
Playing for the Hurricanes is a unique opportunity for players to excel while working towards individual and organizational goals. Our goal is to continue working with our high school base to improve communication and cooperation in developing player’s skills to the highest levels. In addition, we expose the players to national tournaments and “Showcase” with the intent to expose them to college and professional coaches and scouts.
WHAT SETS US APART –
Finally, and most importantly, the Hurricanes look to develop integrity, sportsmanship, leadership, citizenship and teamwork in all our players. Winning comes in bits and pieces but never at the expense of our integrity of the program and the people involved with the team. Each Hurricane team is required to perform community service activities in exchange for their generous support. The bottom line is that the Hurricanes are about more than just baseball. We are trying to develop young men to be outstanding adults through the vehicle of the great game of baseball.
